Port Washington Municipal Marina

#2 Port Washington, WI Municipal Marina

119.4NM in 6.5 hours

9/1/19 We did not get a super early start. We had breakfast on the boat. We filled up with diesel at Jacobson Marina and then we were on our way. The water was very choppy and we had 2-4 foot waves with some fives and sixes thrown in. We thought about turning back around and going back but we decided to go on and head to Port Washington to see friends. We made it there in about 6 1/2 hours, a long, long ride. Our longest so far. I got a little green around the gills with all the waves, but I was OK. No problem getting into Port Washington Marina. Our slip was right across from our friends, so that was nice. We got settled and then took the pups over to their boat. The pups met Tootsie, their bulldog. Dinner was at a local restaurant, Newport Shores. Food was very good, very busy. The service was great too. Good to be here, long day.

9/2/19 Met our friends for breakfast this morning, some friends of theirs joined as well. Their friends have a boat here and have done The Loop. We had breakfast at a restaurant called The Beacon inside a hotel here. Food was good, service was very, very slow. They were too busy and couldn't handle all the people there, but still good food and good company. Came back, got the pups and Tootsie bulldog and took them to the dog park for a little while. Rascal did pretty good, Lilly was scared. It was a very nice dog park. Then stopped at a grocery store and got some groceries. Came back put the puppies in the boat and went to lunch at Schooner Pub. Bar food was pretty much it. Then we went to Chocolate Chisel for some ice cream. We were full so we just had tuna sandwiches on the boat about 10 o'clock. Quiet evening, got some stuff done. We will see what tomorrow brings. Planning on leaving but the weather is turning bad. Good day with good friends.

9/3/19 Breakfast in boat. Started raining in the middle of the night and most of the morning. Very windy! We are planning on staying here again. Too windy. 30-35mph gusts. Just going to get work done and read, etc. Lunch on boat. Dinner at Newport Shores. Quiet day. Tonight we did watch 2 clouds have a light show. Heat lightning? Not sure but gorgeous. Tomorrow to Racine.
