Kagawong – Ontario’s Prettiest Village
The next stop on our North Channel adventure takes us to Kagawong. We arrived July 4th. Since we are in Canada it will be a quiet July 4th for us. It was approximately 16 nautical miles today. The weather was 85 but seemed like 95. The marina is small but it has some very nice staff working there. And they have ice cream! You can never go wrong with ice cream. We seemed to be the only boaters in the marina. Makes for great service.
Upon entering the marina you have to be careful because of all the swimmers (there is a very nice sand beach and playground for kids) and rocks in the harbor opposite the marina that are from the Benjamin Islands. There were no restaurants open that we found, but there are a few attractions.
The Anglican Church at the town dock. The lighthouse. The Old Mill and Post Office Museum.
And of course, the main attraction…Bridal Veil Falls. It is a little walk from the marina but not to worry, the mosquitos will keep you company along the way. It is worth the walk though. The falls are quite pretty.
